Les demoiselles du Périgord

Ideally located close to Les Eyzies, the Pech Charmant campsite is the perfect place to discover the castles of Périgord, some of the most beautiful in France.

A little history
Perched on the rocky spurs typical of the region, guarding two rivers, the Dordogne and the Vézère, like lookouts, these fortresses have their origins in the “Hundred Years War”. Part of the region, now English, faced the kingdom of France, with the rivers marking the border. Their primary function was therefore defensive, before they were gradually transformed into dwellings for pleasure from the 16th century onwards.

The land of a thousand châteaux
Just a few minutes from the campsite, not far from the legendary medieval town of Sarlat, with its well-preserved built heritage, you’ll discover the splendours of Beynac, Commarque, Castelnaud, Marqueysac, Les Milandes, Puymartin… For an afternoon, you’ll be transported back to the time of the Wars of Religion, the King’s Musketeers and the Renaissance.

Wonders for all tastes
All year round, a wide range of visits, events and festivals are on offer to delight young and old alike. Workshops, sporting events, costume parties, escape games, treasure hunts and shows: fun for all the family.

At the campsite reception, as well as providing a wealth of information, your hosts will give you all the tips you need to make the most of the Dordogne’s exceptional heritage. Follow the guide!
