Adventure Camp 2009

Dear parents and the youth, 13 – 17 years of age ,

We can look back on 9 summers of very successful adventure camps. The youth has enjoyed immensely the experience of the adventure camp. The ice was immediately broken and friendships were made that lasted the whole holiday or even longer.

We organise, in the months July and August, an adventure camp every week from unday-evening to wednesday-evening (minimum 8 and maximum 15 participants).
Last years program:

-
Monday: Climbing and Abseilen
-         Tuesday: Canoeing
-
Wednesday: Caving

There are various activities in the evening and we organise a farewell-barbeque on the Wednesday with, if possible, depending on the weather, a campfire. In doing this, we are assisted by people who have many years of experience in organising outdoor-activities.
Every Sunday evening a new group arrives. The camp leader goes through the weeks program and comes to agreements for the coming week. The group decides on the menu and goes shopping, assisted by the leader. They are encouraged to participate in preparing and cooking the meals and … from what we’ve heard, they are quite tasty.
We take care of the group and provide a large tent and cooking utensils. We ask only that the parents share the burden of taking and bringing back the group to and from the different activity locations.

Age group 13 – 17
To be able to participate a child has to have reached the age of 13 or reach that age before the first of October. We do not accept children under the age of 13! We have experienced that children younger than 13 have different needs and we don’t want the age difference within the group to be too big. (Children under 13 however are welcome to participate in the daily activity program, like any of the other guests on the campsite).
The maximum age is 17 years of age. However, if anyone of 18 doesn’t mind being among younger children, we don’t mind them joining in.

Booking

Clothing and luggage advice
It is best to bring comfortable (sports) wear. We recommend old clothes and old sport shoes for caving. Waterproof jacket and leggings can be very useful, as most activities take place even on rainy days.
Don’t forget to bring:
-  small tent, sleeping bag, flashlight and folding chair
-  plate, mug, cutlery and tea towel

Prices
We charge 210 €, including activities and meals. This does not include the site fee of 5,75 € per night. We offer a reduction of 5 € per child in the event of two or more children from the same family participating in the adventure camp.

An extra high-risk insurance can be arranged on the campsite for sports like climbing and caving. These sports are not normally covered for in an ordinary travel insurance. The costs are, for both climbing and caving, +/- 9 € per person.

Bookings
Because of the organisation, the restricted number of participants (max 15 a week) and the number of interested people, we strongly advise to book early. You can only sign up in combination with a pitch on the campsite. Use the booking form on this web site. For participating in the adventure camp we ask for a deposit of 50 € per person.

Yours faithfully,

Cler en Mariëtte Koole
